ID commitment

Tom C. Judkins Jr., our Founder and Principal, first propagated grape cuttings in his high school FFA class in Prosser, Washington. Decades before the wine industry blossomed in Washington State, Tom cared for Concord and Niagara starts in his parents’ backyard. With the support of Dr. Walter Clore, the “Father of Washington Viticulture,” Tom pioneered the establishment of the first certified wine grape mother-blocks in Washington State.

Over forty years later Tom’s vision, work ethic, and commitment to growers are the hallmark of Inland Desert Nursery. Tom’s daughter and two sons together with a team of 30 full-time staff share the commitment to long-term vineyard health and sustainability. These guiding principles make us Washington’s leading grapevine supplier.

Inland Desert Nursery continues to set industry standards today as Tom represents the nursery industry on the Foundation Block Advisory Group, which guides the direction of our certification program.

Our family business takes pride in helping you plant successful vineyards with the cleanest material available. Our active mother-block expansions, in accordance with Northwest Grape Foundation Service standards, maintain plant material integrity.

With tissue culture propagation and the highest clean plant practices, Inland Desert Nursery will offer an unprecedented 100+ acres of newly planted virus-indexed rootstock and scion mother-blocks. We’re dedicated to propagating dormant field-grown and green-potted vines from our certified sources. Our recent greenhouse expansion provides customers with another way to benefit from Inland Desert’s dedication to vineyard health.

From orders of 100 to 1,000,000 vines we have never encountered a project too small or large. We invite you to experience doing business with our family owned business.
